Better Half

I got my 300 watt ARRI hot light fixed today, just a bad buld, and thought, “What would happen if I put 1300 watts of light on my face…”. I wanted to see the effect I would get with such extremely bright light and it’s affect on my eyes and the background.

I think the eyes came out really beautifully, the pupil restricted opens up the iris for a really great look into the color of the eye. I used my Nikon 60mm macro lens at f/22 to make sure as much as possible was sharp. I’m not one to do self portraits, as I have probably written here before, but I am working to increase the number of self portraits I do as suggested by my last photography professor.
